Park City Real Estate - Can you walk to skiing from that home or condo that is advertised as "Walking Distance To Skiing?"

Is ski access a major priority for you in your real estate search?  Obviously, direct ski in, ski out access is the best possible scenario.  However, if your search is price-point driven, you may find some great condominium projects and homes that are truly a short walk to skiing- at a lower price point.

At Deer Valley, The Canyons Village, and at the main base area of Park City, there are many locations that are just off the mountain, and are legitimately within walking distance.  “Walking distance” is a bit subjective, and as a Realtor, I always consider who is doing the walking – kids, teens, adults?  We certainly don’t want any melt-downs or stress included on your way to the mountain.   Considering that, many real estate listings that are advertised as within walking distance to skiing may be, or may not be for you or your family.

At the main base area of Park City Mountain Resort, there are several condominium projects that are an easy, flat walk to skiing- most of which are at surprisingly low price points, especially when compared to real estate with direct ski access.    Park City Mountain Resort – now Vail- also operates the Town Lift and ski runs.  The Town Lift and runs directly into Old Town Park City, which creates many ski in, out property, as well as homes and condos that are an easy walk to the lift or runs.

The Canyons also features some great, well priced, walk to skiing locations.  The Cabriolet, which moves skiers from the lower parking lot to the base area, is within walking distance of the original Canyons townhomes.

If ski access is a priority, and you’re sorting through real estate listings online, this is where a local Realtor can help make your research a lot more efficient, and help you establish clear expectations coming into the Park City or Deer Valley Real Estate market.  My goal for my clients doing research online is to arrive in Park City already armed and prepared with great information, and not having wasted time focusing on property that wouldn’t work for them.

If ski access is a priority for you, please rely on local knowledge and expertise.  I have been Realtor in the Park City and Deer Valley area for over 14 years, and a Park City resident for over 34 years.  Experience counts- please contact me with any Park City or Deer Valley real estate related questions @ 435-640-1854, or use the Contact Us Form on my ParkCityPropertyGuide.com website to request additional information.
