Free Bus System and Newpark Fieldhouse Expansions!

New amenities – both open to the public – are under construction in the Newpark and Redstone area.  These amenities will create more access and activities to the area.

Park City features an excellent free bus system.  The free bus system has been a fixture in Park City since the 1970’s, and a great feature for both visitors and locals.   While growing up in Park City, I used the system before driving was an option. 

For the original areas, the bus would run along their routes every half hour.  The bus system was expanded a few years ago, and routes were added to some of the areas just a few miles from downtown and the ski areas.   The expanded routes included service to Newpark, Redstone, Bear Hollow, Jeremy Ranch, Pinebrook and the Trailside/Silver Summit areas.  The buses ran less frequently…every hour to the expanded areas. 

A new transit center is under construction in the Redstone / Newpark area, offering a hub for people using the bus system, making access to town even more convenient. 

Also, Snyderville Basin Recreation is adding to the Newpark Fieldhouse.  The Fieldhouse is located in the heart of Newpark, and is within easy walking distance for residents of Redstone and Newpark.  The Newpark Fieldhouse already features cardio, weight rooms, indoor field, track, spaces for classes, and a splash pad.  The fieldhouse is adding:

• Multi-purpose gymnasium, including 3 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts (multi-purpose rubber flooring), 2 soccer/lacrosse courts (multi-purpose rubber flooring), and 6 pickleball courts
• Outdoor 4 lane lap swim pool
• Outdoor warming/hot tub
• Expanded upstairs fitness area for stretching/core and cardio
• Party/meeting room
• Additional support spaces.
• Additional athletic storage areas.

This addition will bring even more year-round activity to the area.

The real estate in Newpark, Redstone and Kimball Junction has become extremely popular during the past decade, and especially during the past few years.  These new amenities will only grow the interest both locals and second homeowners have in the area.
